1. Admission information

2019

The Newton Intercollegiate School System was officially established

2012

The school signs an affiliation with the George Washington International School (GWIS). Newton became the first high school in Hanoi to sign an association with a foreign school that was approved by the Ministry of Education to deploy the American high school diploma program in Vietnam. Initially, the implementation was difficult because the students’ English background was still not good, but with the determination of the school’s leadership, the program was implemented, and then brought students many excellent results.

2014

The school was awarded the title of Outstanding Advanced Labor Collective by the City People’s Committee. The school was awarded the Certificate of Merit by the Ministry of Education and Training: recognizing outstanding achievements in the process of construction and development in the period 2009-2014.

2018

Newton High School officially launched the Cambridge Program with code VN241. The school signed a cooperation agreement with Missouri University (top 40 best universities in the United States). Officially put the Mizzou K12 program into teaching. American educational organization Equest becomes a strategic partner of Newton School. Newotn School officially became a member of the World School organization.

2019

2. Admission Guidelines

Age of students for admission: For the school year 2022 – 2023, the school enrolls students born from 2016 to 2012. In case students are different in age corresponding to each grade will be considered and accepted by the school according to regulations of the Charter of Primary school, Secondary school, and High School with many levels of education.
Conditions for enrollment: Students born in 2016 or earlier and pass the school’s interview.
Application Fee
- Interview fee for Semi-International and Part-time programs: VND 500,000
- Interview fee for Cambridge and American Bilingual programs: VND 1,000,000
If students fail to pass the first interview, the second interview will be free of charge.

4. Notes

Tuition: Every year, tuition may increase but not more than 5% compared to the previous year
Meals and cars fee: Paid 2 times/year before each Semester (price adjustment every 3 months)
Interview or exam fee: Only applicable to students who takes interview/test for the first time when they enter the School, this fee is non-refundable (for students who do not pass, 50% of the fee will be refunded).
School development support fund: will be paid annually
- This fee is non-refundable in all cases where students does not attend the school
- This amount includes contribution to building the school, purchasing more equipment for teaching and learning, maintaining facilities, maintaining student information systems, CCTV systems, experiments, etc.
Reservation fee: This fee is non-refundable in all cases where the student does not attend the school.
Uniforms, books, surcharges: These fees are temporarily collected at the beginning of the school year, at the end of the school year, the school will make final settlement according to the actual number of students.
For boarding students: Boarding fees do not include summer school fees, Vietnamese textbooks, graduation exam fees at all levels, certification exam fees, etc.
Parents who pay all contributions of the school year before June 15th, 2022 will be entitled to a 5% discount on tuition.
Late payment fees: an interest of 1%/month interest will be charged for the late payment

Study program

Semi-International system

In this program, students are taught in English for about 35% of the school time according to British curriculum, including such subjects as: Math, Science, ESL taught by foreign and Vietnamese teachers. This program still ensures the standard curriculum of the Ministry of Education & Training.

Bilingual System (American)

Students learn all subjects according to American program in the afternoons or in the mornings, the rest of the day they learn subjects in the education program of Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training. The subjects in the American program will use American curriculum: Math, Language Arts, Mizzou K-12.

High-quality system

This is a student-oriented (career-oriented) program, creating a firm premise for students when entering university in their major (IT, finance/commerce, languages, etc.) in the afternoons with different tuition fee for each year which is announced from the beginning of the school year (for enrolling students), for High School only.

Preferential Policy

In the school year 2022 - 2023, Newton Grammar School announces to parents the following preferential policies and scholarships for students:

Deduction of 50% of the School Development Support Fund if a student attends Newton Grammar School from the 5th year onwards, or if a family has two or more children attending the same school year, they will receive the deduction from the second child.

10% discount on tuition from the second child onwards in a family attending the school in the same school year.

-70%

(3)

Scholarship of 70% of the tuition for one school year if the student is awarded the National/City Excellent Student for cultural subjects in the competition organized by Department of Education in the preceding school year.

Scholarship of 50% of the tuition for the first school year if the student is awarded the District Excellent Student for cultural subjects in the competition organized by Department of Education in the preceding school year.

-30%

(5)

Scholarship of 30% of the tuition for students from grade 7 and above who achieve excellent the title of Excellent Students (the average score of the whole year is from 9.0) of the previous school year.

Scholarship of 5% of the tuition for the first school year if the student achieves a score of 9 or higher in Mathematics and English in 5 years of primary school (admission to grade 6) or achieves the title of Excellent student in all 4 years of secondary school (admission to grade 10)

Group incentives: Scholarship of 10% of the tuition for the first school year for a group of 03 students who know each other (including a maximum of 01 student who is former student or already made reservation).

Incentives for early reservation fee payment: Scholarship for the first school year for students who meet the school’s admission criteria and pay the reservation fee:
- Before January 15th, 2022, receive a scholarship of 10% of the tuition
- Before March 15th, 2022, receive a scholarship of 8% of the tuition
- Before April 15th, 2022, receive a scholarship of 6% of the tuition
- Before May 15th, 2022, receive a scholarship of 4% of the tuition
- Before June 15th, 2022, receive a scholarship of 2% of the tuition

Incentive for full-year payment: 5% tuition discount if all contributions for the school year are paid before June 15th, 2022

Note:

For policies (3), (4), (5), (6), students can only choose to receive the highest scholarship.

Policies (3), (4) only apply to the First, Second and Third prizes of cultural subjects which are directly commended by Ministry of Education, Department of Education, Division of Education.

Students who win other prizes or are excellent online students or talented students will be awarded scholarship according to the level of Gold medal/First Prize: 5%, Silver/Second Prize: 2%, Bronze/Third Prize: 1% (for the highest round of competition). Scholarships are cumulative not more than 30%.

Total incentives and scholarships are not more than 70% of the tuition.

Students who take the scholarship exam at any institution will receive a scholarship at that institution.
